“I am passionate about my loose style of watercolours, wet-into-wet, and am keen to share it with others.  Being spontaneous, immediate and atmospheric, I feel that this allows you to express more than the subject of the painting.”

Loose Watercolour Art Course

at Little HenCefn

with Andrew Geeson

The Course

Students arrive on Sunday afternoon, after 4pm, in time for dinner at 7pm.  During the first evening Lindsey will chat to you about the course and what you hope to achieve.  You have the opportunity of six full days of art work - with some time off for relaxing, if you so wish.

Andrew begins the day with demonstrations of his technique of loose watercolour painting.

There is a break for lunch (kitchen facilities in the studio). In the afternoons there is the opportunity to visit some of the many historical, beautiful and inspirational places in the area, when students are encouraged to take their sketch books and art materials.

Alternatively, students can remain in Little HenCefn working in the studio or the beautiful gardens and grounds.

On the last evening, there is an exhibition of work achieved during the week and a barbeque which is always a very informal and relaxed way to conclude the course.

You depart from Little HenCefn on Sunday morning, after breakfast.

After booking a place on the course and paying a 20% deposit, a list of suggested materials will be sent out to each student.  Work tables and chairs are available in the studio, but please bring your own easel, if you prefer.

Andrew has been a professional artist for several years and specialises in a wet-into-wet style of watercolours.  This quick, fun and rewarding approach to watercolour painting allows you to capture your subject, whatever it may be, in the most atmospheric way without the constraints of over detailing.  Come along and give it a try.  Andrew thinks you may find a new world of painting.

Andrew’s art holidays at Little HenCefn run for a week and are structured in such a way to give students instruction through demonstration and guidance.  Students are encouraged to find inspiration from the surrounding landscape and visits to local places of beauty and historical interest.  There is also time for students to practise the instruction they have received, while Andrew is on hand to give advice and guidance.

Andrew’s art holidays are very relaxed creating the perfect atmosphere to inspire students – whatever their level.  He supports beginners so that they quickly gain confidence.  At the same time, Andrew challenges the more advanced students.
