Joy’s courses are undertaken in the relaxed environment of her fully equipped studio in a nearby hamlet, which is adjacent to a station on the Heart of Wales Railway line.

Silver Jewellery Making Course

with Joy Powell

During the evening of your arrival, Joy will call in and chat about what you hope to achieve over the two days. The following morning, after a delicious breakfast at Little HenCefn, you will travel to Joy’s studio, just five minutes’ drive away.

Joy teaches traditional jewellery making skills using sterling or fine silver. During the course, you will have the opportunity to see demonstrations relevant to your needs. A maximum of 3 students enables you to work individually with Joy, as well as at your own pace. You will have the opportunity to plan and make at least one piece of jewellery, depending on your designs. Students are usually surprised at what they are able to achieve over the two days.

Silver and other materials are available for sale in the studio.

A light lunch is provided on both days.

No previous experience is necessary and you don’t have to be artistic! The courses are aimed at beginners/intermediate students.

After booking a course, Joy will contact you to discuss your ideas and requirements, so that all resources are at hand on your arrival.

Transport may be available between Little HenCefn and the studio.
